The building, object of demolition and reconstruction, is located within a 60s subdivision on the north shore of a Lake.
The design development of the new building is based on the will of the client to realize a low energy, healthy and sustainable construction, where to realize two housing units, one on the raised ground floor and one on the first floor.
The body of the building is configured in two formally distinct volumes: a volume treated in light plaster to the north with an archetypal geometry of a house and a volume treated in dark plaster to the south with a broken geometry, shaped by the constraints of the lot and the internal functions. The first volume is compact, with few openings necessary, by virtue of hosting the most intimate part of a house: the sleeping area. The second volume opens, moves with large windows ensuring a mutual permeability between the living area that hosts and the surrounding environment.
Thanks to the proper management of technological systems and the envelope, the building reaches the energy class A+.
